WHO IS BK*

* My name is Brooklyn King, but I got the nickname BK from fifteen years of softball. Brooklyn doesn’t really fly off the tongue, so my name had to be abbreviated. Yes, I do get Burger King jokes all the time, but I guess I’ll let folks have it their way.

SOME FUN FACTS

I am half deaf. I lost my hearing in a swimming accident when I was seven years old.

I was born on Fat Tuesday (Mardi Gras), and it’s been my favorite holiday ever since.

3

The only bone I’ve ever broken is my right foot big toe, and I broke it by falling down the stairs.

4

My favorite Star Wars film is Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, and I can recite the Mustafar scene by heart.

HERE'S MY RESUME & PORTFOLIO *

A character used in printing or writing as a reference mark as indication of the omission of letters or words to denote a hypothetical or unattested linguistic form or for various arbitrary meanings.

THE ASTERISK

I use this symbol within my branding 1. For my love of typography! I think that’s one of the things I love most in design, and for some reason, I’m particularly drawn to asterisks (even though I don’t use them correctly half the time) 2. The asterisk is a reference mark used to note a hypothetical. The asterisk offers clarity! It’s versatile, attention grabbing, and a symbol of expansion; and 3. The word asterisk derives from the Greek word “asteriskos” meaning “little star” (which is the cutest thing ever!)

“Peaky Silverstoners”

Combining my two great passions—Graphic Design and Motorsports—has led me to a new creative challenge: designing posters for each Formula 1 race weekend of the 2025 season. With the sport’s global reach, I’m creating artwork that reflects the unique character of each circuit, from track-specific designs to reimagining iconic pop culture moments, such as Oppenheimer and Dune 2.

Peaky Silverstoners was created for the British Grand Prix. Current Mercedes Driver, George Russell, is as british as they come. This was especially seen in the teams recent Adidas campaign, celebrating 70 years of racing. On the other hand, Silverstone is an iconic track & race, one that I look forward to the most every season. I believe that is the reason that this poster came together pretty quickly!
